How to Find a Mounting Bracket for your Flat Panel Monitor
If you are looking to buy a stand for mounting your Plasma or LCD TV onto,
you will no doubt have come across the terms VESA, VESA compatible or VESA
compliant. You may have also seen VESA 100 x 100, 100 x 200 and 200 x 200
- but what does this mean? VESA
stands for Video Electronics Standards Association,
and is an International body governing standards for electronics. For you,
the term is used to describe the way a Plasma or LCD is fitted to a bracket
or mount. VESA is a standard pattern of mounting holes located on the back
of a Plasma or LCD TV, which allows many standard brackets and mounts to be
easily fitted to your Plasma or LCD TV. Almost all of the major Plasma and
LCD TV manufacturers such as Sony, Philips and Samsung have adhered their
models to fit these standards. Our TV stands are designed around these VESA
compatible monitors. So how do you tell if your Plasma or LCD screen is VESA
compatible? Well its not as difficult as it may seem. Simply look on the back
of your TV and measure the vertical and horizontal spacing of the mounting
holes. Be sure to measure on center for an accurate measurement.
There are several possible holes patterns which are VESA compatible:
100mm x 100mm VESA bracket
200mm x 100mm VESA bracket
200mm x 200mm VESA bracket
VESALG Bracket (200mm x 200mm to 600mm x 400mm)
Please Note: On smaller televisions, the VESALG bracket will be visible
around the televison.
